1.1 What is BrassMusician?
BrassMusician.com is a magazine and community website for brass players, by brass players.
1.2 What will I find here?
On BrassMusician.com you’ll find articles covering a wide range of categories, including playing tips, how to, news, opinion, performance videos, reviews and more. You’ll also find an active and friendly community of fellow brass players.
1.3 Who runs BrassMusician.com?
BrassMusician is owned by Jon Gorrie, who takes care of the website programming and design. He also has responsibility for writing and scheduling articles, and a long list of other jobs that keep BrassMusician ticking over.
Michael Barkley and Raquel Jimenez make up the administrative and senior editorial team. Bryan Davis is a forum admin and answers a lot of questions about brass playing technique there. In addition we have a team of authors that give freely of their knowledge and expertise via articles and forum posts.
1.4 What does it cost?
BrassMusician is 100% free to use! To help pay for our running costs, we have a small number of relevant ads positioned at various places around the site. If you’d like to make a secure donation via PayPal to help towards our running costs, and/or top-up the admin coffee fund, click here.
2.1 How do I access the BrassMusician.com community?
Use the top menu to navigate to My Account >> Signup. Simply enter your name and email address, and you’re now a part of the BrassMusician community! Use your name and password to log in.
2.2 Can I change my profile information?
Yes! Once you are logged in, simply click “My Account” in the top menu to edit your details.
2.3 I signed up, and already I have 3 friends, what’s up with that?
Jon, Mike, and Raquel are regular contributors to BrassMusician.com and also take care of things behind the scenes. If you need help with anything and can’t find what you’re looking for here, feel free to send them a message!
2.4 What happened to the old BrassMusician.com forums?
The old BrassMusician.com forums have now been migrated to the new BrassMusician.com community forums. You can access the new forums here.
3.1 I have written some articles that might be of interest to other brass players. How do I get them published?
If we’re talking one article, or just a few articles, feel free to submit them for submission using our Article Submission Form. If you’d like to publish more regularly on BrassMusician.com, send an email to info@brassmusician.com with a short bio (perferably in 1st person), image of yourself, and a brief message about what you’d like to contribute, and why you would make a good article author.
