I have a 1948 Selmer Grand Prix that need the spring replaced in in the tuning slide water key.
However the screw that hold the key in rusted in place, tried to use WD-40 since its not to harsh and do not want to harm the lacquer. Still cannot not get removed to replace the spring.
    Any suggestions?

  2. Henry,

I suggest that you ask a tech to help you; heat can damage lacquer. Are you in the UK or US, can we suggest you a tech to try?

    All the best, my friend!
