And what an amazing year it’s been!
There have been a lot of positive events, such as the establishment of BrassMusician.com, the Purtle Brass Camp, the Youtube symphony orchestra 2011 auditions and free masterclasses by London Symphony Orchestra and Berlin Philharmonic players, and more…

And of course some tragic events too, such as the loss of former LSO principal trumpet legend Maurice Murphy…
On a personal note, this year has seen some amazing and fun happenings. For example:
- A 2 month road-trip around the North Island of New Zealand, including lectures for
Performing in The Zone. See http://jongorrie.com/travelblog for more info about the trip (blog entries appear in reverse chronological order) - The establishment of BrassMusician.com and the BrassMusician.com forums
- The creation and launch of High notes, low notes, and everything in between as well as Music for Brass Quinet
- A recovery from embouchure dystonia
- And plenty of trumpet playing with the Gothenburg Opera orchestra
On that note, the team at BrassMusician.com will be taking a break from now, until the 4th of January.
The main magazine site BrassMusician.com will of course be fully functional over the holiday period (it’s just the article authors that need a rest!
)
And of course, the BrassMusician.com forums are always open for you, 24/7/365.
Have an amazing Christmas and New Year period, and be sure to check back on the 4th of January for our new 2011 articles.
Oh, and by the way… To catch up on any articles you may have missed throughout the year, try using our ARCHIVES feature to view all of the articles from 2010! Or, you can use the category navigation, or even the search box at the top right of the screen.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, from the team at BrassMusician.com!
