Profile

I have been playing cornet and more recently trumpet for over 30 years. During the late 1990’s with Brighouse & Rastrick Brass Band, I recorded albums at Abbey Road, played to packed out audiences in the Royal Albert Hall, Bridgewater Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall, did recordings for the BBC and toured across America, Canada and Europe.

In 2009 I changed my musical focus to Jazz, and am now busy making my own Free Jazz music with my band H2 (www.h2-music.co.uk). I am working on my first album and a whole host of other music related activities and put simply, my musical ambition is to become one of the next great Jazz Innovators. I am working to achieve this through the creation of original, improvised, contemporary sounding Jazz music that the mainstream of people will (hopefully!) enjoy listening to and watching live.

I look forward to posting articles on Brassmusician.com that relate to the various elements of Brass music which interest me.
